LESIS Bulletin #8 - Pink CTF, security research and community connections
— Research, tools and insights
Introduction
This month, we look back at an initiative focused on bringing more women into cybersecurity, prepare for our participation at BSides Curitiba, and create a new space to bring the security community together in Rio de Janeiro.
From supporting hands-on learning to sharing our research and strengthening connections beyond conferences, here is what has been happening at LESIS.
Community
Supporting the first Pink Hat CTF
On September 19, LESIS supported the first edition of Pink Hat: Pwning Like a Girl, held at IDP Campus Asa Norte in Brasília.
The event brought together women interested in cybersecurity for talks, workshops, and a Capture The Flag competition focused on practical security challenges. Organized with the participation of Meninas.comp, UnBreakable and CtrlAlt+ Delas, the initiative created a space for participants with different levels of experience to learn, practice, and connect.
Supporting initiatives like Pink Hat is part of our commitment to helping create more opportunities for people to develop technical skills, exchange knowledge, and become part of the security community.
LESIS Happy Hour
Security is built through research and technical work, but also through the conversations and connections that happen around them.
That is the idea behind the LESIS Happy Hour, an informal gathering in Rio de Janeiro bringing together friends, partners, researchers, professionals, and people from the security community.
No conference rooms or formal agenda. Just an opportunity to step away from the screen, meet new people, reconnect with familiar faces, exchange ideas, and spend some time together.
The evening will include drinks, conversations, music, karaoke, and a few surprises from LESIS.
We are looking forward to bringing everyone together and creating another space for the community to connect beyond the usual technical events.

LESIS at BSides CWB 2026
On October 17, LESIS Founder & Managing Partner Heitor Gouvêa will take the main stage at BSides Curitiba 2026, at PUCPR in Curitiba.
His talk, “Can You Trust an AI Pentester? Engineering Reliability into Autonomous Security Testing,” will explore what it actually takes to make autonomous security testing reliable and what trust means as AI systems begin taking a more active role in offensive security.
BSides Curitiba's first official edition will bring together the security community for a full day of talks, workshops, villages, practical activities, and knowledge sharing.
If you will be at BSides Curitiba, come join us for the talk and say hi afterwards.
